I Will Continue to Dream

Joy of my life,

Object of my passion,

Love of my soul,

You are the essence that makes the world tolerable.

I long to hold you in my arms,

Feeling the intensity of our joy,

While listening to the sound of rain,

But the world conspires to keep us apart.

It is not a sadness that fills me this night,

Though the separation is trying,

It is a joy of knowing my love for you,

And feeling your love in return.

And so I settle for holding you in my dreams,

Longing to come and fill your arms with the warmth of my love,

Needing to wrap my arms around you and feel the beat of your heart,

Wanting to see the sparkle of your eyes and kiss you deeply.

I will continue to dream until we can be together again.

well written poem- I can tell these are your inner most thoughts and you did not choose any fancy wordage or try to trick the reader with using metaphors or anything like that--you just wrote from the heart, which you can never go wrong by doing so-

whoever first coined the phrase "absence makes the heart grow fonder" sure put a mouthful out there...and i have often wanted to go back in time and slap the s**t out of them just for being so right. separation from your heart of hearts is a very difficult thing...it is real and physical pain. this is a beautifully worded homage to that kind of love. well done!
