Properties of Water

Properties of Water

A Poem by poetic-raven2012

Previous Version
This is a previous version of Properties of Water.

When I am heated to mist,
You bring me down to liquid.
When I am frozen to ice,
You warm me up again.

Water has density; water is a solid, liquid, and gas.

I have negative and positive
Moments all the time, and
My electrons are never equal,
But you see past that.

Water has polarity; water has positive and negative ends.

I am cold to the touch
But I long to be warm;
When it's cold, deep down
I am heated like a stove.

Water has high specific heat.

I don't show emotions
As well as I should,
And many think that I am simply clear.
You know better than that.

Water is the universal solvent.

It's far and few that I allow
People to get inside of me, but
Once they do I reveal my soul
And you just might know me a little better than I do.

Water has high surface tension.

On our own we are two separate
Entities,
But when combined,
We make a whole.

Water is a molecule; water is hydrogen and oxygen.

Anger flows up my veins
As if defying nature;
Only calm words whispered can bring me
Down.

Water performs capillary action.

Stupid biology.
This is what happens when I get REALLY bored while writing (again) during my (stupidly) easy Bio class. (That makes me want to cry. I miss AP.) It might do some good if I got bored more often, eh? Whatcha think?
(Oh, my friend told me that if I gave this to a depressed person, they'd pass Biology. Yay.)

Featured Review

I love this!!! Great way for someone to memorize the properties of water. I think I'll use this to study...haha. Seriously, though, excellent write. Sometimes we write our best works when we are caught in the grip of boredom. Wonderful write, as usual. I'm looking forward to reading more of your work soon.

This is fantastic! And a great way from someone to study! I loved how you separated the "facts", i suppose you could call them that, from the lines of the actual poem. I wish boredom was this good to me ;)

LOVE IT! Very wee written as usual! I like your stanas here they obviously separate the proterty from the actual poem. Beautiful work and Mr. Weeks would have loved it and you would have gotten extra credit for it, but oh well.
