Goodbye

Goodbye

A Chapter by Shawn Purcell
"

An after thought to a great romance...

"

There you were - a tear

In the lingering mist -

Like the verb “to return”

Bringing me back with it.

Your strawberry lip balm

And a mild winter breeze;

A long walk in your eyes

Calm waters on the lake.

My surprise.

My everything.

Show me what it means to be free.

Love me for who I am and never leave.

 ...

And so we said good bye, farewell,

I’ll really really miss you.

I’ll miss the first time that I loved you,

And the first time that I kissed you.

Sail on with harmony

Love free and feel alive,

Kiss me again if you need to.

Let’s make love one more time.

...

I’m so happy, baby.

Everything we have is real.

It’s like we met inside a day dream.

You were sent here to save me?

Tell me you’ve never loved anyone

The way you love me baby.

Tell me you need me. That

When you’re in need you dream of me.

“It’s been so long,” she said.

“I never get to see you.

But I’m your rock,

And you’re my tree.”
