Sad Eyes

Sad Eyes

A Chapter by Shawn Purcell
"

A sad song about a sad girl

"

I see the tears well up,

In streams they want to come out.

Like a down pour of years of regret,

Another opportunity lost to upset

The life they planned out for you

When they said you were born free.

It’s been like one long night

Stretched out over a period of life.

You know you’re so beautiful.

And you know they know it too.

But its not the beauty that’s you skin deep

You want them to know as you.

You’ve been gone,

You thought they knew.

The moment came and went

And some how you’re still you

Chorus

Sad eyes,

I know there’s someone

Some where who let you down.

Just let it out.

You’re not the same as you used to be.

Live for now,

Because it’s all you’ll ever see.

And it’s ok,

Though life f*****g sucks sometimes

Meanings seem to always change.

If tomorrow were a promise and

Yesterday a loss

And all that’s in between were tossed aside

Just for a while

So you could think about living

And what it really means to die.

To kill something that was part of you

And forget it was your life, for a while.

And you realize the fabric is thin,

Cuz you’re not who you were when,

It was time to make those choices.

And you can’t shake the shadows

Every part of you is afraid to try

You worry it will be forever.

Then you worry that it won’t
