Somewhere Warm

Somewhere Warm

A Chapter by Shawn Purcell
"

I wrote this song in my head, dreaming of a florida beach, walking through a blizzard.

"

As my feet press through the snow

I witness events pass through my mind.

And they reveal how they affect me.

Some make me nervous,

So that I dread the impending.

And some are just negative.

I want to dispel them,

Because I know they are not real.

Some are true to life,

Spun from a mind run overtime.

Old rage is in there some where too

Laying in wait to come through.

Chorus

So take me somewhere warm,

I need to go

Where the sun stays out late,

We can watch it set from shore.

The way the snow blows is so surreal

The night comes early this time of year.

The cold shakes my bones

As I stress about my fears

Let’s go away, baby.

Let’s get the hell out of here.

This veil is suppressive,

And I can barely breathe.

It’s really quite pleasant sometimes

But innately defeating.

Its like the essence of your being

Left to nature’s shore.
