A dedicatory poem to someone special

The Beauty Within

Time stands still

when your fragrance permeates the air

when the smile fills my senses

do you think this is fair?

The wind blows in my face

the birds whisper words to me

of how a hurricane jumped into this soul

leaving this roller coaster ride.

Joy is the sun shining in your face

happiness is seeing a smile once more

in a short while, it was worthwhile

as the light shone once more.

The light still shines

the hand is still open

time is nothing but time

and a verse with no rhyme.

It is unfathomable how this came

when my guard was down

I face it and embrace it

slowing down.

Listen to the whisper in the wind

filling the heart within

of the most beautiful melodies

of pureness, joy, and freedom.

Once it lets go, it is undone

and I do not regret it

your melodies are deep within me

singing, dancing and laughing.

Time needs to heal its wounds

but those melodies will be there

the heart will be there like it was before

welcoming you once more.
