Goodbye

Goodbye

A Poem by Rhea752

Decaying pages
Collecting dust
Those written rages
Forgotten lusts
Sit alone
Abandoned
You can't condone
A rotting end
Yet here we are
As books
Are marred
And stories shook
Worlds collapse
Destroying heroes
Insidious traps
And vivid woes
Goodbye, old book
Now is the time
To take one last look
And crumble away to grime

Oh my goodness nooooo. *sadly waves* good-bye old book. This poem is amazing! I feel to me that is discribes a story, that's short, but somehow long. It tells the tale of how loved this book was. How much someone cared for it, untill it was time for it to go and crumble to nothing. Great poem. Loved it.

How I wish I were a worn out, olden book rather than dusted remains of what was once myself.

Thank You for the reviews :)
Everyone has a story. A history, a growing book of knowledge and experience. Sometimes I see people, about their daily lives, and I wonder who they are, where they came from, and where they're going. But it seems like most people don't care much about the stories others have to share. They are too busy in their own lives, and are perfectly content saying goodbye to "old books". It's kind of sad, I think, and I think your poem represents that beautifully, the remorse over losing an old book to time. It reminds of a story I read once, in which a young girl needed to interview an adult, but the only person who would agree was her seemingly boring history teacher, who turned out to have more to share than she ever imaginged. This poem and that story both show the importance of remembering the past and the beautiful memories worth reliving. This is gorgeous penning. Thank you.

I love this poem. It can relate to so many things. Some days I feel like I'm in a worn book, and one day it will be set down and never reopened. Very nice.
