stormy day

i smiled and looked outside

the clouds forming fast

 

i listened too the thunder

before the angry lightning thrashed

 

maybe the gray night sky

is somewhat... comforting?

maybe the sound of the rain and wind

is... happiness

 

lightning is no killer, just a diamond in the rough

saying what it needs to say...

and being loud enough

 

so ill sit and watch

the sky dance the night away

smiling to myself

loving this stormy day

I've always thought of the rain as little people, whispering to me. Stupid, yeah. But comforting.

I very often find comfort in a storm... the rain is in a way a spiritual cleanser for the soul... I can feel at peace listening to it no matter what else is happening around me.

I love this line...

lightning is no killer, just a diamond in the rough

especially knowing what lightening does to sand.
