Too Little, Too Late

I knew all along that

It’s only a matter of time

I couldn’t save you

Right from the start

 

Now you’re gone

Gone forever

Faded into blurred

Painful memories

 

I gave you all that

I could give

But it wasn’t enough

Not enough to save you

 

I gave you my heart

My love, my soul

But it was too little,

Too late

 

You made me promise

To fight my way through

This hard, cruel world

And find my place in life

 

You made me promise

Never to let go

To move on and continue

But how can I forget?

 

And it hurts to carry on

Hurts to move

Hurts to laugh

Hurts to breathe

 

But I made a promise

So I put on a fake smile

No one sees me dying inside

The silent screams, silent tears

 

I gave you my heart

My love, my soul

But I was too little

Too late

 

Too late.

Interesting pop out of my head, as usual. I should really try some more "light" themes rather than dark and depressing and angsty...*shudders*
