Until I Reach The Sky

My thoughts when I glance out of the window :) Also, my first piece of writing on Writerscafe.

Dear sky,

Every once in awhile, I'll glance up at you.

I even try and capture you with my reached out hand.

Yet you always seem to move away from me.

You always seem to get farther, and farther away from me. Until...

I never saw you as this wide ranged, hourglass land of blue. 

I never saw you as the birds, the sun and moon's home either. 

I just couldn't understand you. Until...

You watch me silently. And on the days you are mad, 

I want you to keep watching me.

Because Sky, when you are mad, you get so loud.

I want you to watch me cry for you. 

I want you to see yourself as a selfish sky. Until...

I found something taller than you, Sky.

I found something much wider than you, Sky.

I found something with so many emotions like you, Sky.

And still, this something continues to move on without me. Until...

I knew why.

I knew why you kept changing faces.

I knew why you became the home of so many.

I knew why you were so mad.

I knew why you continued on without me.

That something, was my imagination. 

It kept getting taller.

It kept getting wider.

It kept having such powerful emotions.

It kept moving on without me. 

Dear Sky,

In my eyes, you, and that something, was my imagination. 

You two are much alike.

This is my first writing piece and I am a bit nervous! So please, no critiquing my work. This was just for me to enjoy, and it would be even more amazing knowing that someone else liked it too!

Well for your fist write you did a great job with a really great comparison of the sky and your imagination. My only suggestion for you is not to worry about what others think - just write, write, write! I love writing and I know you will too!

I love the verse that's comparing the sky to your imagination. An odd piece, disjointed, but it works with how everything is growing and changing. I love the topic, and how you describe how broad and mysterious and confusing your own imagination is and how that reflects in how you perceive the sky.
First time? We'll definitely keep writing!
May I suggest changing the title? It's not bad, it just doesn't encompass what actually goes on in the poem.
