A second ago a woman cries
For the choice she has made

A young man jumps for joy because he free
From responsibility

Three seconds ago
A child's life was ended

4 seconds ago
A murder was committed
A murder that is excused

A minute ago
A mother made a choice
She will never forget

Two minutes ago
A young man walks off
Without a care in the world

Three minutes ago
A child lost all hope
Lost all rights

All in the matter of minutes

Sorry about making the guy seeming like a jerk but most young guys act like this when it comes to their gf's having abortions

Painfully true. Many young me skate through an unwanted pregnancy with little or no thought. We need to do a much better job of educating the young about sex. Take the stupid "abstinece only" crap and use it to light a fire under the morons who advocate no sex education. They are as bad as the Taliban for wanting society twisted to their perverted version of religion.

really strong work, each and every last word had a massive impact. to me, abortion is just really barbaric. you've captured it exactly for what it really is: the cruel extermination of a soul which never even had a chance to live. i once saw a video of what really happens in an abortion and it still sickens me now. great work here

hmmm... abortion is a tough subject and there's a long list of argumentative subjects when it comes to it. i agree though, men DO act like this when it comes to abortion and they don't necessarily always look at it the right way. but hey, there guys. thats just how they are


now, your poem on the other hand is very true, realistic, and i, personally, think it should be in a commercial haha :)

actually i wouldn't say most. there are some who do act like jerks, but i think there are a lot more guys out there that are concerned about abortion more than the women are. as surprising as that may sound. there are so many guys out there that have shed tears over the fact that they were going to be a father, but their girlfriend didn't want a baby. i have known women who have had abortions so many times that they are somewhat desensitized to it. very very sad but often true.
but i agree, this has to be one of your best poems so far. :)
