Like Superman

Same girl as in my other poems, this is just how she made me feel in general, with a bit of a geeky twist

Everyday with you makes me feel like I'm flying
I'm super strong, I can accomplish anything
Because I can run fast but I'm not fast enough
You give me my strength when life is most tough

I'm was always the one who had to do the saving
Yet you were the one who swept me off my feet
I'm only human but you are so much more
If I'm a great person, then you are four

I'm just Ken Clark but you make me feel like Superman
You are my weakness, my only kryptonite
And yet somehow you make me stronger
So please, I need you to stay a little longer

Because before you came along, I was running in circles
Creating tornadoes where they shouldn't be
But you set me straight, now I'm fighting my bad guys
I've been born anew, and I'm on the rise

I was born and raised so I could take the pain
I had to toughen my skin to not feel the bullets
But with you the bullets just seem to fall to the ground
I feel so much safer whenever you're around

The S stands for hope
And that's what you are
You give me hope of better days
I get my strength from your Sun's rays

I'm just Ken Clark but you make me feel like Superman
You are my weakness, my only kryptonite
But you make me so much stronger
So please just stay a little longer

To every Superman, there is a Wonder Woman
And you are definitely no exception
You're stronger and better than I'll ever be
You're the key to my lock, you set me free

I stay disguised to protect those I care most about
I hide my emotions, my feelings and everything else
But with you it just keeps falling off, I can't hide
You find me and you know how I feel inside

You strengthen me beyond anything possible
You protect me from myself by just being there
So stay awhile until I can get back on my feet
Or stay forever and make my life complete

When I am with you, I truly am Superman
You defeat all my weakness, you destroy my kryptonite
You make me infinitely stronger
Won't you please stay a little longer?
