Broken

Broken

A Poem by Shalini Dinesh (Poet's World)

Everything outside was silent and in gloom,
I can still feel it from inside the room,
There was no breeze from the trees,
As if it was all set to freeze…

I saw that everyone at home was dull,
Even the meal served was simple and frugal,
Everyone were lacking their usual shine,
So horrible as if they were about to whine...

Then I realized everything was fine,
So far what I thought was my opine,
I was broken cause of that single word you said,
It made me feel bad as though I was coldly dead…

I think this is a wonderful poem! 100!! It's very deep, especially that last paragraph. Just one thing I was wondering (you don't have to put this in I was just curious): What did the parson say? You said "that single word you said". Was the word they said "Goodbye"?
