CreEpy!

CreEpy!

A Poem by Shalini Dinesh (Poet's World)

                  Creepy

The Grey folded sky that touched the land,

Isolated place so scary, beyond words can explain,
At a stone’s throw distance, I found huge tree,
So barren, with no leaves, fruits or flowers…

I walked, slowly towards the tree,
How strange!!!!
There was a gargantuan trunk,
Tied to the top of it….

My meddling mind, wanted to know what it is,
I walked near by,
Failing to notice the black guard dog,
It barked so loud, as if it was signaling someone….

Something flew fast above my head,
I looked up, and saw ravens hovering in the air,
My feet turned cold, but I didn’t show it out,
I ran to the other side of tree, still the dog followed me!

All of a sudden, there was light shining bright,
The darkness was gone,
Boohoo, my mind raced,  “what was it?”
There were sparkles of light, from the eye hole of the skulls…

Then I heard mysterious sounds
I turned around, but found no one!
The chains that were trussed around the tree
Began to release, by its own….

The ravens flapped in circles,
Watchdog cried, like the return of its king
Skulls shined brighter and brighter
Thud! Thud! Thud! The trunk opened!

Miasma of white fumes filled the place,
A shrill cry, chanting of bewitching spells,
From within the trunk raised the eidolon!
It burned my eyes, and pulled me inside the tree...

Plash !!! Plash !!!!! The liquids splashed on my face
I screamed! Hollered for help,
Then I heard a voice “ HOW LONG WILL YOU BE SLEEPING???”
Oof! Good heavens! It was one of my worst dreams!

Mysterious ~ Excellent!

That was an unexpected ending. I like the way you smoothly change from being dramatic to sounding a little more on the casual side. It's amusing and brilliant.

Keep Writing. ^___^

What a write, it really takes off from the word 'go'!

The ravens flapped in circles,
Watchdog cried, like the return of its king
Skulls shined brighter and brighter
Thud! Thud! Thud! The trunk opened!

What a wonderful atmosphere is created with the above lines .. you really get to grips with the eerie, creepy feeling.

Great picture .. was it that that gave you the nightmare?!

You simply must quit eating candy before bedtime--it gives you bad dreams! I think that rotweiller would have made me keep my distance. A cute one, Poet's World.

Love the words you used to describe the scene in the dream!
"Miasma", "bewitching", "eidolon"...........so intriguing and inviting.....
You could easily turn this into a pretty amazing story if you wanted.
