Dream Vs Reality

Dream Vs Reality

A Poem by Shalini Dinesh (Poet's World)

                                 Dream Vs Reality

I once, dreamed a dream
Amidst the big palace
I will one day become a queen
Castle built in clouds,
Decorated
With trees and flowers,
Touching the rainbow, birds were flying high
And thro’ the window
I will watch it from my bed where I lie.

No one except me in the palace,
Other than
My charming king,
To care, to chaperon, to guide
Of course
To love too, he is there,
He makes me laugh,
And wipes my tears,
Lovely king, my better half!

I opened my eyes, and saw no castle,
Searched all around and found no clouds,
Surrounded by the city crowd
I just saw a little house,
Still,
The king of my dreams,
Yeah I found him here,
Heaven on earth, was my little house,
With my hubby around, I had no fear…..

Dreams were changed
Altered, altered, and finally altered
To reality, which I found
Interesting and good too!
Just
That I need to accept,
Open the eyes of my mind and heart,
To welcome the truthful reality
Of god’s gift - “a lovely life”!
