Take Time

Take Time

A Poem by Shalini Dinesh (Poet's World)

                   Take Time

Take time to look around you,
For the days you live here may be few.

For the crisp wind knocks your door,
The yellow canary has songs to pour,
Droplets of dews drip from green leaves,
From the old tree that shades your eaves,

The blossoms bloom like ever before,
Take time to sense the aura and adore,
The rainbow paints across the azure sky,
Have you ever wondered how or why?

Colorful butterflies flutter here and there,
Our life on earth with them we share,
Have you ever noticed the bright sun shine?
Or the midnight moon so pure and divine?

Walk out of the stress where you’re curled,
For we are drifting in the stream of the world!

This is a truly splendid poem. The flow is done with great care and the natural beauty that you speak about in this poem is wonderful. The best part is yes we should take a look at the small things around us and enjoy them for each day should count.

I like all of the description and the flow and meaning are good too. Many people think of the idea that we should slow down in this world but can't put it into words; you did. One think I personally would have liked better is that you mostly only describe elements of spring/summer. What about everything great in fall and winter? Otherwise, nice job :)

I truly believe that if people could slow down just a little and do just as you've suggested (take moments to reflect on the beauty around them and in our journey) that stress could drop away like leaves in autumn... Beautiful voiced, my friend.

I like this poem very much in composition, theme and form. One word seems out of context though, I would consider changing sniff to sense.

Lovely poem, the words are so beautifully written that you can picture yourself being in the middle of the "colourful butterflies fluttering"

Very well said. We should all take time to enjoy this life because we won't have it forever. Lovely poem.
