Sculpture

Sculpture

A Poem by Shalini Dinesh (Poet's World)

Sculpture

From behind paper has this face come?

Or from face are there papers some?

No hairs, no ears no expression though,

Few seeds of joy shall I plant or sow?

Why a part of his manly face he hid?

Is he like this from when he was a kid?

I know not why he was sculpted this way,

Maybe this has something else to say!

Why had this man closed his eyes?

Maybe he thought it was better or wise?

Has he any family or friends?

Or does this way his life ends?

How on earth can a man be like this?

Ever so silent, calm and in bliss,

Only can a sculpture stay so still

For real man cannot and never will.

The artwork and powerful words made the poem a pleasure to read. I like how you asked many question that cannot be answered. A very good ending to a outstanding poem.
