It's for your own good

It's for your own good

A Poem by Soren

Some years ago I needed to know

What was the amount of my last deposit

So the bank I called and a voice drawled

Your account number please, do you have it?

No problem I said, and then it I read

Now some security questions to verify it is you

Password conferred, I thought the rest could be deferred

But not so, some mandatory questions did ensue

To avoid a con game we need your mother's maiden name

Once again I complied and gave it

One last question before, we can give you more

What was the amount of your last deposit?

Thank you Ashi for your kind words. Happy New Year as well
This could be sad but from your point of view it's finding what's real not the other as write makes go in that direction but what you have inside, yes this poem is deep for a love lost. Excellent write.
Thank you for sharing

Sorry for the typos, in so many words I enjoyed the read.
LOL! Well, I wasn't anticipating that but have encountered the same question myself. What should be so simple is made overly complex in the name of protection.

Thank you so much for your review and comments. They are deeply appreciated
lol omg this had me laughing out loud. I been there. I know exactly what it's like having to go through hoop after hoop providing this information while requesting just a small bit for yourself. Great work on this piece, Soren.

Well doesn't that figure? : ) That was fun my friend and it sounds poetically legit. The hoops we have to jump through just to get a little information these days. (Or those days)

Thanks Will each day a little more difficult, but that's the exercise that makes us stronger.
The security is a pain in the butt. But we need. I liked the poetry Soren. Every time I wander to the bank. I get a test to see, who I am. Happy New year my friend and thank you for sharing the entertaining poetry.

Happy New year Soren and you are welcome.
Ah Hah! the modern-day catch 22. I've experienced it trying to access my emails from another computer ...
"the access code has been sent to your email acct."
Sorry for your frustration, but well-writ, Soren :)

Happy New Year to you too, Soren!
Infuriating aren’t they those security questions? I had to smile though when I read your final line :) Yes you amused me even though you were probably exasperated by then.
