THE MISSING SOCK THEORY

THE MISSING SOCK THEORY

A Poem by KCthelastboyscout
"

I checked the washing machine. I checked the dryer...Where do they go?

"
HERE TODAY
GONE TOMORROW

They are a pair
Separate but equal
Worn, then discarded into the clothes hamper
( Is this the place the escape plot is discussed?)

Point A to Point B to Point C
Travel arrangements are made from the clothes hamper to the laundry basket to the washing machine
The washing cycle is complete Now, wet clothes are transferred to the dryer
( Nothing has been left behind or has the deception already begun?)

The drying is complete
Last stage of the process, folding
( oh God, takes so long)
Piece by piece
Shirts, shorts, pants, underwear, socks
Wait..Five pairs of socks...one single

You check and recheck again
The dryer, the washing machine Back to the clothes hamper...empty
You check every room...nothing
Where do they go?
Why only one and not the pair?
Do socks comprehend the meaning of the word "sacrifice"

Between this world and other dimensions
There is a land of only socks
Some wet, some dry, some still dirty
Different colors, Different sizes
Mixed matched, but all together
...sound familiar?

Yup KC. Howabout we exchange photos of the single sock collection. This not a silly story but can be analysed in so many ways to reveal fundamental truths about socks and humans. I would draw an analogy with questions such as do I believe in magic?
Good luck with the socks - perhaps its a ruse by the sock makers - do they make one sock soluble?
Join the odd sock club!
Cheers,
Aan

Do socks comprehend the meaning of the word "sacrifice"

I loved this, this was the perfect blend of both humorous, thoughtful, and painfully accurate.
