Real

Real

A Chapter by J. Land
"

Para mis amigos de Mexico...

"
An illusion
Dissuades even the noble
Keeps the Other
Behind invisible barriers
Beyond reach of the obvious

Connection

Like rejecting a gift
For distaste of its ribbons and bows

Illusory wrapping
Falls away in the deeper inspection
That reveals precious remnants
Hope, faith, love, longing

Inside lay a seed
Dormant and waiting
For dignity to rain down
Warmed by shining peace

Pushing through the barrier
Unfolding its flower

Connecting

Its sublime elegance undoubtedly
Real
