A Trip To The Christmas Tree Farm

A Trip To The Christmas Tree Farm

I heated milk on the stove and made hot cocoa that I poured into a thermos. The freshly baked chocolate chip cookies were packed up, along with some napkins and foam cups. These were loaded into the car, along with
an old two-man saw. Dressed in our warmest clothes, we all piled into the car taking our black Cocker Spaniel, Mikey, with us.

The drive to the Christmas Tree Farm on Wilder Road was just a short trip, maybe 20 minutes at the most. Christmas music poured from the car radio. We parked the car on the road then walked in, Mikey on a leash. We trudged through the snowy field in search of the perfect tree. Mikey investigated several trees, finding a mouse under one.

At last the perfect tree was in sight. Brian and Jim knelt down on the ground, working together for a change, they used the two-man saw to cut down our tree. We dragged it back through the snow-covered field to the car. As Gary tied the tree to the car, I poured steaming cups of cocoa and dispensed the chocolate chip cookies.

A perfect Christmas memory to be packed away and remembered on another snowy Christmas.
