A Date with Destiny

A Date with Destiny

A Chapter by Robert Francis Callaci

Hangman, hangman, wait a while

Just let me walk this one last mile

No need to laugh, no need to smile

Got a razor in my stomach

And a mouth full of bile

Don’t let me taste

This sour waste

I need a little water

For the horror of my slaughter

Don’t drop that glass

This drinks my last

I danced with the devil

Got a demon up my a*s

My throat is dry

My hands do shake

It’s time to die

And time to bake

I walk that mile

On cold wet tile

With a nail in my sock

And a penny in my pocket

My tears stream down

like a jet fueled rocket

I’m a dead man walking

No need to keep talking

Got a date with the devil

My time is nearly done

For those of you who are watching

I hope you’re having fun

The noose is slowly tightening

My final destiny totally frightening

Hangman! Hangman! please wait a while

Oh Rob my friend that was so sweet ,i swear ,you are writing magic here, how I love you my friend,ha ha
this is so good ,i was stunned with this, you are doing wonders here..I felt all these feelings all my life
Hangman ,hangman wait awhile, let me walk one last mile, for I really never walked with joy all my life
This drink is my last.as i always danced with the devil, what a great companion he was..
My throat is dry ,its time to die,i walked that mile with nail in my sock and penny in my pocket
See how life was always so wonderful with me all the while..Now tears stream down, but no regrets
I am even happy to walk away..I am dead man walking,no need talking,my time is nearly done
Hangman dont wait any while..i am so happy to get out of here,it just stinks in here
And i say goodbye..but never ever with any regrets..i am even so happy..
what a lovely write,so wise ,everything is so perfect..
lovely write..

Bob...this...without a doubt, it my absolute favorite of yours! You continue to amaze and delight us with your razor wit and philosophy...always, with absolute truth and wisdom!

It conjures up visions of Oscar Wildes' "The Ballad of Reading Gaol".

He did not pass in purple pomp
Nor ride a moon-white steed
Three yards of cord and a sliding board
Are all the gallows' need
So with rope of shame the herald came
To do the secret deed

For once or twice to throw the dice
Is a gentlemenly game
But he does not win who plays with sin
In the secret house of shame.'

This is going in my all time favorite file!

That ole devil will get it if you don't get it first.
Wonderuflly written. I like this and get it.
