Your Life

Your Life

A Poem by Willard Wells
"

Choices in Life

"

Your view of life today,

looking in from the outside.

Do you see the positive,

wishing to reach it yourself?

Do you have pain and misery

in your life, begging the world

to descend into

despair with you?

Whatever life has brought you,
thus far, in your time in this life....

Go forward with an optimist view.

You will find the positive in your world,
and happiness …beyond all dreams.

'Your Life' is a great thought, Willard Wells. Reaching for positive is constructive. I like your wording in the sentence, "Are you in misery and want the rest of the world to descend to your place." That is thought provoking and true, how misery loves company in that way. Thanks for sharing 'Your Life.' I appreciate reading this.

As mentioned we are both on a optimistic journey of life. Thanks again for you visit.
I agree.
"Whatever life
has brought you,
thus far,
in your time on earth …
go forward
as an optimist."
Hard to do sometimes, but we must. Great wisdom in the outstanding poem my friend.

I love what you have to say here, Willard :) I get depressed all the way down to the bottom of despair, but something always brings me back up. I came here for a reason, guess I better see it through, cuz I sure don't want a repeat lol

Hi, Willard,
This is such an encouraging piece, crowned by the most inspiring photo to set the mood.
I truly enjoyed the message you've gifted with your thoughtful words … almost a commentary on positive thinking and motivation; yet, with only a slight bit of actual poetic voice and very little flow.
Excellent Free Verse poetry should flow with well-timed line-breaks, each line leading to a surprise in the next, with each moment grouped into its own realm.
Below, as a long-tenured teacher of poetry, I offer a visual example of what I mean, to compare with your original piece:

Your Life
A Poem by Willard Wells
" Chooses in Life "

Do you
see the positive in life,
ever wish
to reach it?

Are you
in misery and pain,
wanting
the rest of the world,
descending with you …
in your despair?

Whatever life
has brought you,
thus far,
in your time on earth …
go forward
as an optimist

You will find
the positive
in your world,
and happiness …

beyond all dreams.

Thank you sincerely, Willard, for the pleasure of reading your earnest efforts — hopefully, my example and enjoyment of this wonderfully positive piece has offered you assistance and encouragment in bettering your skills and penmanship … blessings to you! ⁓ Richard

(I graded this 80/100, and with editing, it can easily be a 100/100 … thank you, Willard! ~ RJ)

I wish I agreed with you but, it is perfectly possible to go forward in life into a death cult negativity. There are people aplenty who move in greed and selfishness and thievery, feeding darkness and dragging others down.
