The Legend of Night and Day

The Legend of Night and Day

A Story by Grey
"

My short version of an old Native American legend portraying night and day.

"

Once upon a time there was a very powerful goddess. This goddesses name was star. She was The moon and The Suns only daughter. Star fell in love. Her father the sun did not like this and so he forbid her from ever seeing her love. He moved them far far away from one another.
The goddess star was so enraged that she used up every last bit, every last drop of power that she had to ensure that her mother and her father could no longer illuminate the world with their wonderful light at the same time. So every night The Sun would slowly die. Would slowly fade away for the few hours of night so that his one true love The Moon may live only to die for him come morning.
