My Superman

My Superman

A Poem by Lauren_The_Awesome

Your disease came back
Made our family stronger then ever with the news
Realizing you need us
But the pain is there
And no one can see where to go
Our days may be numbered
Or not
We don't know what this world holds
However our love can not break
Not ever
We all have to hold on
To the things we believe in
Our hearts broke in a million pieces
Finding you back with the sickness that once before plagued you
Can't this world just find a cure for everything
Instead of squabbling about the stupid politics
People are dying and all we humans worry about are little things
This world will crash before my eyes if you go
Your the one that brought me up to where I am today
A successful person that you are
You showed me so much
Please stay with us for as long as you can
Be the strong person I believe you are

A truly beautiful piece that puts everything into perspective. As humans, we most definitely magnify the minor things, completely skipping over the things and the people that matter to us. As heartfelt as I know this had to have been for you, this could also be spun into a neat reminder for anyone else to not take the days given to us for granted. Great work, Lauren. :)
