What is A Poem

My first poem I ever wrote!!! :)

A poem is art that you express onto paper,

It is a message originating from the soul.

A simple poem can unite lovers, or change the world,

It can mend a broken heart, the way an I’m sorry never could.

It can be a simple rhyme or an elegant haiku,

for it matters not as long as it’s from you.

It is a spark to revolution, a birth to inspiration,

connecting us all to each other’s nation.

A poem is a powerful message moving the wisest of kings,

It breaks down barriers and unites us all.

So go ahead, write a poem, I’ll start it off for you...

This is quite powerful for it being your first poem. If I may ask, when did you write this?

Anyways, I like how this piece captured the beauty of poetry in an inspirational way. It seems like no one can give a clear definition of poetry, but at the same time, we know what it is ... it's almost like love in that no one can define it, but we can all feel it. You did a good job of using descripitons to capture that feeling ... I enjoyed the line "It is a message originating from the soul."

Expression with no boundaries... You have explained that very well through your words. For a first poem, this was written very professionally and eloquently, as if this gift had been embedded in you from birth, yet, it only needed to be performed. Long story short, you are very talented! Great job!
