a night goes by

a night goes by

A Poem by Lanky
"

just randomness inspired by the night

"
The sky starts to darken
and the land goes quiet
as the sun sets down
beyond the western wall
whose tall tall mountains
reach out and touch the night
before fading into darkness
and disappearing from sight

The sun lays down for the evening
as the stars start to wake
the deep blue sky whispers promises
to guard you while you sleep
In that sullen sky of darkest night
the stars gaze down from the heavens
to comfort the sleeping
the people who lay dreaming
of adventure, wealth, love, and lust
the moon has risen in the sky
to assume its rightful place
yet it travels a doomed lonely path
across the sky's chasing the fabled sun
oh so rarely do they meet
face to face

and so as the night passes
the moon lays down
where the sun set
only a night ago
and for a brief instant
there is no great orb in the sky
nothing hovers in the silent night
and the sky seems so lonely
so dark an empty

but over the horizon comes
the breaking of a new day
and the long since asleep
awaken feeling refreshed
unaware of the beauty they just missed

Nice, really enjoyed reading this.
It can be cleaned up a bit, I did notice a few errors, and the rhyme scheme seems a bit inconsistent, but not bad.
I like your descriptions, but feel adding more imagery will make this A-mazing.

Overall, written well, love the closing line.
Good job.

I love this ending line! I see you could use a capital at the beginning of this line for the first word, but, I see your poem spoke to me in a way that grabbed my emotions and told them, "Hey, emotions, feel good!" This was a well written poem, a few minor errors that could be fixed in editing, but, overall, not bad and a well written poem! Well done! 99/100!

An endless cycle repeating never to meet in the middle. Such is life. An awesome adventure for my mind to grasp. Full of subtle nuances to be absorbed into my thoughts. Your poem has an even flow, was very easy to read and it is obvious you write with the passion given to you by talent...

That was really good. I like the mental effects the personifications create. I also like the flow that the style creates.
