pura poesia

pura poesia

A Poem by Lydia Shutter
"

friday night is here!

"

artwork by helene beland

i took the undulating plunge

dancing in your sunlight

swooning in your moonlight

nibbling on the stars tumbling from your sky

my cohort

my co-conspirator

feeling your hopeful breath on my neck

needing that flesh on flesh

wanting to be just that little bit evil

deliciously diabolical

nothing prosaic about it,  mi amante

what it is, quite simply, is pura poesia

Overall, this feels breathless & impatient, like the narrator is eager to get down to business! *wink! wink!* Your word choices are delightful, being both unusual & exact: undulating, nibbling, tumbling, deliciously diabolical . . . so much fun & action & borderline outlandishness makes this feel like wild partytime fun! Great title, too!

dear Lydi... it has been three years since you made
your debut with this sensuous poem. Many a Pearl has
been discovered... but even now you have that essence of
discretion and gathering the beauty of the Sea.. truly, Pat

How wonderful you went three years back to find this one, Pat. Thank you so much. Lydi**
Ahhh! The fall that ever echoes in the chambers of our soul. Its sweetness lingers and memory remains. Beautiful!

Even your review is poetic, Linda. Thank you so much. Lydi**
Beautiful artwork and words dear Lydia. The poem had the feel of a Donne's love poem. Filled with passion and wild desire. Thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry for love.

This poem was wonderful and you are welcome dear Lydia.
Intricate and lovely like lace. Sensuous and filled with vivid images "nibbling on the stars tumbling from your sky"-tantalizing and edgy!

OH MY Lydi, you are a lot evil and deliciously diabolical writing this poem... fill my plate with pura poseia, with stars tumbling, and moonlight swoons... *sigh* your Friday night poems just knock me over Lydi and all I can do as I get up is whisper "nice"... when even stars and moonlight are not enough...

dear Lydi, your poetry and art is surely a Cameo of romantic persuasion of your presence in Portugal. I feel as though I have been on a flight of fancy and seduction. truly, Pat
