Passionate Serenity

How deeply exhilarating

Skiing down the sensual slopes

Of midnight’s riotous rainbow

Straight into your golden charms

Bluebirds need blindfolds

Blushing at our loving escapades

As enthusiasms throw caution

To a storm of pulsing passions

Up and beyond secret treasure

Lays wanting to be discovered

By ravenous impatient lovers

Reluctant to linger for long

But patience is a virtue

Precious to each other’s reflection

Thus slowly savouring love’s succulents

Makes the ardour last till dawn

Hmmm isit summer... :) Phill...
Maybe you should serve your iced tea..along with the poem...
I think this is very beautiful...
And does that closing lines have a twisted double layer to it...

I think this pic is fav. Of many at cafe... I myself have used it in one of my poems...

Overall a nice poem for a sweet evening... :)

Uma linda retrato de amor!
A Heavenly, sensual portrait of desire.
The painting is very fitting.

The imagery you write of is so full of
anticipation of what is surely going to
follow. But biding one's patience makes
the moment last so much longer.
Very beautifully done.

I love the images of nature and feeling of gliding downhill. The last stanza deepens the intimacy, especially the succulent, which I think of as very long-lived and hardy. Nice writing!

One of the best sensuous poems I’ve read in awhile. I love the way you say almost everything thru metaphor, which makes this feel lyrical & mysterious as much as sensuous. Great imagery revealing my most ardent wish for any sensory situation – patience! What is the freakin’ hurry, guys? This is what women are waiting for, waiting for someone who doesn’t mind waiting! Great message to go along with your seductive wordplay (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

A simmering poem that doesn't go over the boundaries of good taste. Love like this should last til dawn and beyond.

slow love...patient love...it's the best...and those poor bluebirds, feeling like voyeurs...
they just have to chirp among themselves and look the other way...

The steam rising off of this one is countered with the thought about impatience and the importance loving with the long haul in mind. Great flow and feel to this piece and well matched with the pic. Great writing!

An anthem about and to what might be litling pleasure, delightful future, rapt! Your genres and style vary considerably but there's always attention to what matters!

' Precious to each other’s reflection.. '
