UNSEEING HEART

UNSEEING HEART

A Poem by SHEEMA HUQ
"

poem

"

If only life were as simple

as ‘a walk in the park’,

when addressing matters

 of one’s sullen heart,

traipsing, while thinking,

tempered by the humid

scent of Birch bark, in

itinerant idleness,

unsheathing the

unwrought residue of

vehement pontificating,

eyes are swollen, heavy,

they weep and twitch

with the strong  gust,

eyes feel worn and weary,

they squint at the very

thought of  ‘must...of must, must’

eyes become awakened

when the mind soothes

the unseeing  heart

with  reassurances  to  trust

The way life is we all go through trials and tribulations... and sometimes those very wisp sent our way are a test, to get us to another level on life, cause perhaps we will need to strengthen in some areas that are necessary for us to better ourselves... the important fact to always take to mind and heart is that life is filled with surprises, and unorthodox unpredictability .... however just as theres seasons in weather there are seasons in our lives.. and sometimes we shut down due to a particular event occurring in our lives... but as long as theres that faith.. inside the heart and glint of light when happiness is yet a whisper away... u summed it up perfectly

You are very kind Frank, thank you so much!
Love is blind. The heart is blindfolded when its in love, and that's when trust comes in. Beautiful write.

Thanks so very much Serenus my dear :)
I still remember the park I used to walk with my mother when I was a litte girl...I loved the squirrels and the autumn leaves and most of all the goldfish pond...life was more simple then it is now...enjoyed Sheema...SyberRose

'If only life were as simple

as ‘a walk in the park’,'

These first two lines got me hooked. Very very profound. Gets me thinking. Each line is so well described that I can feel the emotions you have expressed in them. Thank you for sharing this.

i liked how the poetry grew out of the rhyme here, nothing forced or overdone. i got a strong feeling of melancholy. i walk every day and i like to watch the changing seasons, i find i don't have to sort things out, the walking does it for me! i liked 'humid scent of birch bark' and the way you described sight towards the end. a lot to reflect here. fantastic.

I love walking in parks and forests. I've walked many roads while my heart was broken so I can really relate to this work. You pack so much into your lines, I had to read a few times to see if I'd gotten them all. I enjoyed the read.

Such a great response from you John I am grateful, thank you very much
Life is a continuous battle we have to fight. We against someone...or even to ourselves.
We laugh and we cry. But often, we carry more in our hearts the pain than the joy we have felt. And still it is our own eyes which can see, and our own hearts which can feel that we have to believe that this is life...and it lies in our faith and in our own hands (as they say "Life is what we make it").
Nice poem. :)

Thanks so much for dropping by and reviewing, interesting thoughts as well
there is a calming rhythm here, an internal assonance that is more territorial
than juxtaposed and a poem of good construction. And I just love your word choice.
Nicely written,
dana
