Dripping diamonds

 

Oh the bliss, of a campfire late at night!

Warm, welcoming; the flames glow, orange and lovely.

Dear husband built the fire, my soul basks

 amidst love’s warm light.

Our love matches ebony- night- reality.

Late and later, comes the moon, reflecting

 orb fire bright.

All around the forest glows as if cast in molten glass.

Late night trees, now drenched,

 in dripping diamonds of moonlight!

Every leaf, branch and twig of Douglas Fir Grove

Simply bestows, Luminescent Moon’s power.

It pierces through each leaf like a living lens

 capturing the magic.

Late and later; all becomes hushed.  So still!

To bask in silver bright shining is my privilege.

Dear Husband Timothy off to sleep.

 This night my heart is comforted.

I rejoice in this precious time of solitude.  Such peace!

My soul inhales quiet, sweet stillness.

Last glowing embers remain and still reveal beauty.

Happy I am to sleepily sit in my place

 of sweetness and light.

Thank you Lord. 

 For your precious moon does rule the night.

yum! such a precious moment spent with you Kathy! ... i really like your line "Husband Timothy off to sleep ..." its so very endearing and full of charm ... leads nicely into you own "private" moments of contemplation and gratitude ..it has been a while since i sat around a campfire in such a way ... my fires these days are all about cleaning up fallen trees, branches and leaves ..and tho one can not help but pause and enjoy them ... there is danger and vigilance in the mix as well ..but oh those moon, diamond dropping times .. how magical they are ...one expects the faeries to appear in such lunar illuminations .. thanks for sharing what appears to be personal to you ... a loving and wondrous camp time ;)

Your review was like reading a little story of your own. Within a day of outdoor spent working and burning piles of fallen branches, trees, leaves; I can just see you out in the daylight. Ah, a moment, those moments, when, after we have stripped every other thought away we are left with the simplicity and bliss of knowing that in fact it is not us and the universe, it is not us and god, it is just us. For we are the universe, we are god, we are the moon, he moon is us.

You are lucky your poem sounds like an elongated moment ... love those moments, clarity prevails, for only a moment but within that clarity we find peace ...
