Annapurna

mountain climbing is for crazy people... and some things can't be done in the winter, no matter who you are.

If I ever summit Annapurna in the winter the entire world will know of it (i'd be the first). What is more likely, if I ever try and summit Annapurna in the winter my entire family will know of my death... and a voided life insurance policy.

I love your spirit but much like trying to breath water, some living things simply will never be capable. For me, reality remains undefeated for now. Maybe you should give it a shot. (try it in the summer first)

I think extreme athletes are a little nuts, you have to be to take risks like that.
And then there's those of us who are afraid of heights but crave a bird's eye view.
So if you die doing what you love maybe it's better than having never lived.

Those peaks look invincible. It’s an icy hell. I once went upto the Rohtang Pass in the Himalayas (elevation only about 4000 meters) All I remember of that ascent is a blinding, skull bursting headache.Could’nt stay for more than 20 minutes and puked all the way down. There are marvellous people who do this for sport. It’s a special kind of insanity.

It's kinda fucked up they'd bring you that high withou supplemental oxygen. It's really, really beuatiful if you can see it without altitude sickness. The sky looks different... pretty much everything looks different. Simple things become orgasmic.

Still, it's an idiots game.
