another school shooting. are you shocked by this? really?
Another school shooting...
You know the routine, send your prayers and condolences to the families of Santa Fe, Texas
Since Sandy Hook, there have been over 200 school shootings and over 400 people have been shot
PRESIDENT TRUMP TWITTER RESPONSE:
" School shooting in Texas. Early reports not looking good. God bless all"...and that's it
TRANSLATION: "There's been another shooting. Yes I know about it. Sorry it happened. Have a nice day"
ONE DAY! ONE DAY!! ONE DAY ONLY!!!
Remember this is a one day event only before our minds will be distracted tomorrow with the British royal wedding of Harry and Meghan Markle...
KC - I'm with you. I'm impatiently waiting for November when I, we, can begin voting out of office the puppets for the NRA sitting in Congress. Their twisted rhetoric will continue to have us believe that stricter gun controls will bring down our democracy. Most "civilized " democracies have much stricter gun controls and many fewer deaths from guns. This year, unless I'm mistaken, our school children and teachers have suffered more deaths than those in the military.
Take care - Dave
KC this is so awful, what is happening, what you bring to light here.
the Trump brush off...the intense exposure each time that prompts more to do it...this last kid inspired by Columbine...yes...but what is important in the end?
the wedding of ? who really cares...Royal wedding?
reminds me of how people get so glued to Soap Operas...and yet these people aren't real...never have to work, rich enough to do nothing but have affairs...good grief.
I remember early on when Trump was blaming Obama for the school shootings...the onus never falls on him...
what a world we are living in.
your poem is so powerful...
makes me want to shout like Peter Finch in Network..
"i am mad as hell and i'm not going to take it anymore"---
thanks for the good work, KC.

I've gone through Santa Fe many, many times on my way to Galveston. Often thought, "what a nice little town". What are some common denominators in the majority of these shootings, aside from guns? Males unhappy with their lives, wanting to harm themselves and others and finding ease of access to their deranged thoughts via internet sites that "support" how they think and feel. We as a people need to care for one another much better than we do now. Helping requires us to be morally empathetic and non-judgmental. Easier said than done? Thank you for sharing!
I first heard about it in passing and then read it on the front page of a newspaper I picked up. Found out it had two other death news on it. One about a gay (way to make me feel safe TX) and another about an attack after a high school graduation ceremony. News is all about death recently but acting like it doesn't mean something shows apathy and someone representing its people should probably have empathy... then again, most business men wouldn't have an empathetic bone in their body. Not unless it means good business for them.
KC, thanks for writing this one. While we all agree the Santa Fe school shooting is tragic, we (Americans) have a short, and may I say f---ed up, set of priorities. And, the media, always quick to get the story, are also quick to cater to our materialistic voyeurism (Royal wedding) and their desire for cash-producing stories. So, as Santa Fe parents cancel graduation parties, summer camps, and plan funerals, America watches a Royal Brit marry a Hollywood celeb. Truly F'ed up!
I find it very frustrating to see more of these killings. Dylan and Klebold started a new trend that unfortunately has caught on in the worst way. Kids decide a rifle/gun is the best alternative to solve their problems and innocent kids die as a result. It must end.
I hear you and share your feelings. The NRA and its supporters drip with innocent blood. (While waving Bibles) I'll be using my one little vote to try and throw the monsters out.

OMG Again. You are so right KC. Ten dead in another school shooting, with the same lies and crocodile tears, soon forgotten, emanating from the White House. Does he need a teleprompter to cue him to spew lies, or is it just a replayed, endless loop?....ironically, it’s the NRA who call the ‘shots’ for this man. He should be held accountable but never is. I send prayers, support and deepest sympathy for the victims, families and students in Santa Fe. Thank you my friend for your important and fearless words

When the forgotten are dead and people make profit off of them. Humanity lacking human consciousness it seems. May the next life be better for those passed on.

No theories, no accounts, no nothing. Shame, we're so quick to ask why until it matters. If the cause is not solved than the reactions will continue. These past tragedies are proof enough of that. Though it seems the hardest part is getting those with 'power' to listen.
