About Me

I AM A CANADIAN. I WAS BORN AND RAISED ON THE PRAIRIES OF MANITOBA, WHERE I AM CURRENTLY STILL LIVING. YES...ITS COLD HERE IN THE WINTER.

I am a cook. I have been in the professional culinary field in some way, shape or form for 18 years now. It has, for the most part, been my main means of existing.

I am a writer. Although I have never made any money at it (yet), I believe this is my true calling, and look forward to the day when I can admit to people that I am a writer and not feel embarrassed for saying it.

I am an outdoor enthusiast. I was raised that way. I was off on canoe trips with my family before I had even learned to walk. My mom and dad instilled a healthy respect for the great outdoors in me, and while other families were off to see Mount Rushmore or Old Faithful on summer vacations, mine were taking me into the wilderness and teaching me knots, tree lore, camp craft, and how to perfect my J-Stroke.

I am a technologist. I suppose that’s a fancy way of saying that I am a geek. I have experience in computer networking and software development, and there is rarely a shiny object, of any electronic sorts, that fails to interest me.

I am a traveler, although I have to admit that I have never (yet) been off of North American soil. At 38 years of age I find it kind of sad that I can say this. All of that is about to change.

I am a photographer. I have no inclination to announce that I am a professional photographer, however the hobby intrigues me, and if you ask, I gotta tell ya, I think I take a damn fine photo thank you very much!

I am a pop culture Junkie. Again, this is another way of saying I am a geek, and an adult that refuses to ever grow up. I love comic books, movies, cartoons, video games, T.V., and all sorts of art.

I am a reader. Mostly fiction, but I love a good biography, or accounts of real life events/adventures.
