About Me

The truth is, I've been writing since I could hold a crayon. I would scribble things out on paper and then urgently tell my mother the story. I continued through elementary school and then into the trials and tribulations of Junior High. High School found me homeless and writing more than ever and then suddenly my fire burned down and the writing faded from me.

My creative focus became showing the world what I could within a single picture, capturing moments to be saved for a later date.

And then I began combining my first love with my new love, noting that I could not forget the path which brought me to where I am. This is when I became a slave to my pen and a mistress to my camera.

I am but a story waiting to be read.

The Peace of Wild Things

When despair grows in me
and I wake in the middle of the night at the least sound
in fear of what my life and my children's lives may be,
I go and lie down where the wood drake
rests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds.
I come into the peace of wild things
who do not tax their lives with forethought
of grief. I come into the presence of still water.
And I feel above me the day-blind stars
waiting for their light. For a time
I rest in the grace of the world, and am free.
