Silent Echoes
I'm just an old fool
who cared enough to listen
to others that don't...

G'mornin Rocks... Wrinkles don't automatically mean "smarter" but it sure gets quiet
I love reading tiny poems with big meanings, what a skilled write!

As we get older we understand how important listening is... often no words can help but a listening ear can save lives even of those who do not understand its therapy

Echoes are never silent, we force them into silence. It is a very brief and short piece of writing, but it surely shows regret and old mistakes.

Norah - yours is a unique view - thanks for sharing it.
No "old fool"...just someone that's learned listening can bring joy and deeper understanding. We all should listen more :-)

One can't always help how they "feel" - life happens.
I've always had a fondness for both. x

They are quite a delicacy in some eastern climes. Crickets that is, not old fools.
Can I ask why this poem doesn't sport the quotation marks that the rest in your writings list does Chris, out of pure curiousity?

Excellent Senryu, Chris,
I thank you most gratefully for sharing the enjoyment of your unique mind-works.
I think is is to your benefit that you would care enough to listen to others that don't/can't/are too locked in their own heads to, etc; because, it reflects a man fortunate enough to be able to perceive and learn … otherwise, such amazingly original poetry could not grace your page.

May we have more ole fools like you.
I'm privileged and proud to read you! ⁓ Richard : )
