STEAMY DOG DAYS

STEAMY DOG DAYS

Flirting, heat

STEAMY DOG DAYS

I cling to my window sill to study him

steamy hot sweat on my brow

I wait as my innards flutter about

as dusk fall into an abyss

each day, same time

he passes me

dark suit, black flock of hair

beige shoes, brown leather briefcase

if only he would look up, glance at me

One day I linger in front of my building

primped with up do and red lipstick

my edginess heightens,

first a blur of colors

eyes squint, as the sun bids farewell

a figure with shadows draws closer

my nerves twinge

he walks by

turns his head slightly

pauses and smiles

my allurement is not a fancy

I thought of when I tried to lure a girl with my broken motor scooter. Well, I'd say your primping was a much better idea. It's so great to see a plan succeed!

I love your stories! they're always so creative and very truthful!!!
Your infatuation is not a fancy but maybe he fancies you too secretly? Its a fab sensational poem and your descriptive lines make it very attractive and engaging to read. Kudos!!

this is a very romantic version of Rear Window...

If only he would look up...
Or maybe he did with his peripheral vision and just was too shy to let on.

You are most welcome
Infatuation is like a pastel pink color of love that blooms rose red when it deepens. Your colorful poem takes me to the times I fell into these budding emotions. Thank you Betty for your words.
