THE DAY AFTER

THE DAY AFTER

A Poem by Betty Hermelee
"

TURKEY

"

THE DAY AFTER

Now that some are stuffed with turkey

Our innards seem a bit murky

We chow down unhealthily well

Before we fall into an exhaustive spell

Alas, the leftovers

Behooves the holdovers

For next year’s supper

If we freeze them in Tupper

Black Friday mall shopping

Sure is hopping and bopping

Or is Amazon the best

From your couch you can shop and rest

Wait a minute!

I spot Xmas a lit

Have to admit

Are we ready to gorge once more?

A notion some will utterly abhor

Full to bursting, the only cure a good snooze then more drink and food.
This little gem raised a smile Betty.
Hope you are well ( and rounded)
