Reflections

A Poem by William Michael Reeves
"

A trio of poems inspired by poems I read last week

"
In JE Falcon's poem 'Question Me This' the Poet of Prey asks questions....and I answered.

Longing paints deep the colors of my Sol.

Radiant tears of opaque whispers and sighs.

Reds on fire and tangerine dreams of desire
Reveal golds that sing in my heart and flies.

The music of her love is the note of my whole
Keeping time with the sun and the skies above.

With my memories in hand and she by my side
Together we fly as one heart winged like a dove.

But peace can be fleeting and sad hard to hide
Her cry is a rain, a pain that needs to be bled.

With arms open wide I shelter her frightened soul
Enveloping her warmth until the tempest has fled.

Cherrie Palmer asks...'Is This Love'

I hear your warmth answer me
Writing truth in smoke and fire
Speaking freely you said we
Could start our hearts on a pyre
Flaming visions of desire
Force the freedom to be one
And wear the gem we acquire
Forever dreams in the sun.

I calmed your soul with my hand
Tiny fingers laughed and smiled
Stood on words that ran on hand
Catching dreams like snowflakes piled
Spells of kisses writ and filed
On your lips my heart has won
Enchanted love rides unbridled
Forever dreams in the sun.

I caught your need on the wind
Caressing thoughts heartbeats slow
The lust of youth is not a sin
Taking care to gently show
The seed of love our lives sow
Beats together like a drum
Planting trust hot whispers blow
Forever dreams in the sun.

And in the all we defeat our foes
Living lives of sunshine love and fun!

Writergurl said 'It's Been Awhile'.

When you do smile your death slips
Forgotten for a moment as our words play
When life turns your path on a new way
And the frown you wear clearly flips
It has its own style
Since death dies when you smile!

Author's Note

The thing for Cherrie's poem is a ballade. I intentionally left the second couplet out so my couplet slips between hers and she finishes it with her amazing line. For you purists who want that second couplet, just ask. I'll give it to you.

reflections on love, on peace, on pain....on dreams, on passion, on inspiration, on caressing...the way you weave your words (and others) to achieve a beautiful balance....you and your muse together as one "flaming visions of desire".....And you're on a new path, one which makes you smile, out of the darkness and into the radiant sun.I like the fabric of this poem, very interesting.

Thank you Writer for Some words.
others' poems can be inspiration...always amazes me when some folks are gone from WC for a while and come back and say they just weren't inspired to write...
but if they would just come back and read enough pieces from other poets, I believe they would
start up again almost immediately.
You show here how their inspiration causes you to write.
