She

She

A Poem by Bridger Hall
"

I am writing with picture prompts. here is the first one that i am going to do. the image is the prompt i used. I do not own the picture nor do i recieve credit for how great of a picture it is.

"

She keeps her head down

She is innocent

Her pure mind and big heart tell stories into the light autmn breeze

She sings the song her mother taught her

She has her same blue eyes

Her lips let free soft breaths that she doesn´t fear to take anymore

She puts her tiny hands to her sides

She knows fear

Her pretty face shows no sign of the pain she´s endured

She knows all about God and Angels

She is content

Her boots make prints into the dirt on her way to her mothers grave

I enjoyed reading this, despite your dark interpretation of the picture. You have transformed a single image into a series of powerful images in my mind. I especially enjoyed the second stanza and the last. Very beautiful and emotional.
Besides the two small mistakes in the third line (autumn) and the last line (mother's needs an apostrophe), this poem is as close to perfection as it needs to be. It could use a stronger title, though, if that is something you care about.

Nice, I never thought of doing what you did here. I could feel what she felt, and see her too. :) great write

When looking at the innocent girl in the looming rows of trees, it's amazing the contrast. A girl, innocent in a respect, even in all her pain and sorrow. What amazes me is the faith and belief of children, like the story of the girl you painted in this poem. Innocent and yet so true and raw.

this poem makes the reader feel a sort of peace but laced with sadness, sorrow, and love. This is a very beautiful write, makes the reader want to know the story behind it

you've done a great job. I don't think that it's negative, I think that it's sad but beautiful at the same time.

yes it is a great picture i agree.
my favourite lines.
she keeps her head down
she sings the song her mother taught her
Her boots make prints into the dirt on her way to her mothers grave..
as for writing what you think she feels...it is a nice idea...i tend to think, that kids are always in the moment, and so i feel looking at this picture that she feels
curious and interested in the path she is looking down on, and the pathches of wet and dry and shapes and shadows. great idea, a nice meditation to begin the day. bye for now.

This is very beautiful Bridger. It slowly draws you in with wonderment and curiosity through the picture and then places you into another person's life you see but can't really see. The emotions are unspeakably there as well as an image with and without the image. ANd I love how you call her mind pure. That gives it another light.

Well done.
