Did I tell you?

Did I tell you?

A Poem by Coyote Poetry
"

A wise person is thankful for what he has.

"

Did I tell you?

I don't remember if I told you how beautiful you are.

I have allowed so many things to blind my eyes.

Allowing disappointment to steal my smile and laughter.

I know.

If you left me.

I would become lost again.

I have twisted up my life in useless dreams.

Victories seem so far away.

Now I know.

You are my  only sweet dream.

That  I  have  gathered in my time of living.

I want to tell you.

I love you more than my own life.

Without you.

I would have no purpose.

Your love for me is a blessing.

A gift to a man so thankful for you.

Thankful for a kind lady  that touched his life.

I love you.

Your words are beautiful truth Coyote. This poem is a jewel to put in the crown of your love. It matches her beauty, as the photo shows. Eloquent, lyrical, tender...a song to the person whose love must never be taken for granted...in good times and bad...”Did I tell you?” In this poem, you did. Superb!

You are so right Coyote. Never forget to say I love you now, today, everyday. dont wait for tomorrow, it might never come and we would regret that forever.

Not to take away from the essence and meaning of the poem. The person you speak of must be a special lady :)
However, I have to agree with j.r. especially with his 2nd and 4th points about the overuse of the word "life" (I've told myself I wasn't going to use the same word more than twice in any of my poems, so maybe try something like that ) and the rhythm. The rhythm can really give a poem that something extra. Words are just words, but add flow and bham! You got something special :)

All in all, nicely done.

To be so loved and appreciated is a gift, to love someone in such a manner is divine.
Both are a blessing. This is awesome!

The flow of the poem is easier to follow this time and I think you have created more depth to the poem with adding some new words. great write. Great emotion.
