Did I tell you?

Did I tell you?

A Poem by Coyote Poetry
"

A wise person is thankful for what he has.

"

Did I tell you?

I don't remember if I told you how beautiful you are.

I have allowed so many things to blind my eyes.

Allowing disappointment to steal my smile and laughter.

I know.

If you left me.

I would become lost again.

I have twisted up my life in useless dreams.

Victories seem so far away.

Now I know.

You are my  only sweet dream.

That  I  have  gathered in my time of living.

I want to tell you.

I love you more than my own life.

Without you.

I would have no purpose.

Your love for me is a blessing.

A gift to a man so thankful for you.

Thankful for a kind lady  that touched his life.

I love you.

Your words are beautiful truth Coyote. This poem is a jewel to put in the crown of your love. It matches her beauty, as the photo shows. Eloquent, lyrical, tender...a song to the person whose love must never be taken for granted...in good times and bad...”Did I tell you?” In this poem, you did. Superb!

I assume you gave this to her? In any event, very heartfelt and to the point. We never appreciate what we have because we always assume the grass is greener on the other side. Your piece pretty much shatters that myth. Thanks friend.

This is a wonderful poem telling people how much they mean to you. The flow was a little hard to follow but the poem over all is great and it conveys your thoughts and feelings clearly.

Some things go beyond words and into a new form of passion. I feel this went above its words to bring the reader to its meaning.

To start with,

"I have allowed so many things to blind my eyes" - A great paradoxical line there, well done.

Other than that, I don't see much imagination dwelling in the poem. Just straight forward words (Yeah and you use 'Life' and 'Love' far too often, avoid that). It always makes a poem better to be in a certain scheme. Try new types of poetry (I recommend shadowpoetry.com, go and see the vast challenges you can face).

Keep writing.
