Did I tell you?

Did I tell you?

A Poem by Coyote Poetry
"

A wise person is thankful for what he has.

"

Did I tell you?

I don't remember if I told you how beautiful you are.

I have allowed so many things to blind my eyes.

Allowing disappointment to steal my smile and laughter.

I know.

If you left me.

I would become lost again.

I have twisted up my life in useless dreams.

Victories seem so far away.

Now I know.

You are my  only sweet dream.

That  I  have  gathered in my time of living.

I want to tell you.

I love you more than my own life.

Without you.

I would have no purpose.

Your love for me is a blessing.

A gift to a man so thankful for you.

Thankful for a kind lady  that touched his life.

I love you.

Your words are beautiful truth Coyote. This poem is a jewel to put in the crown of your love. It matches her beauty, as the photo shows. Eloquent, lyrical, tender...a song to the person whose love must never be taken for granted...in good times and bad...”Did I tell you?” In this poem, you did. Superb!

John, Your words ring so true to me, especially:

"I know.
If you left me.
I would become lost again."

After years of mucking around I found someone who has stuck with me no mater what--and someone I would dearly miss if they left. I have told her that I would be homeless and on the mean streets if it weren't for her... and back there I would go without her. This piece touches me! Great work!

Hey my good literary friend, what you have captured here is one of very few 'universal truths'. If you wrote this from personal experience, you are a very lucky man indeed......All Good Things, Neville

Nice piece. I especially enjoyed the "you are my only sweet dream" part. I would recommend some grammar fixes, but that's about it!

It's so easy to take the little things for granted, but people, no matter how loyal they are to you, need to know that you love and appreciate them. I loved this so much CP.

Thank you. You are right. Most of us waste love, than learn too late. We had it all and wasted it.
