Path Back Home

Path Back Home

A Story by Cherrie Palmer

I’m drawn to her beauty as she is perched on the cliff that overlooks a dark and irate sea capped in white. Fortissimo is displaced with each wave breaking against the rocks.  The Eagle‘s vision surpasses my own as she breaks from her resting place. Fighting the wind she finds both mate and currant and in contrast to the dreary day glides on last night’s peaceful dreams and well wishes. Those ashen clouds wet with mist, has touched all in its path including myself for the monotone color of the day is overwhelming. I wrap tight my woolen sweater and wait for the returning of the sun, as I continue my path back home.

My Dear Writing Friend,
Well written poem that brought my minds eye to stand with you and see your write. A pair of eagle’s live on my homestead, they patrol with their ever-watching eyes. They remind me of the Great Mystery, always watching, nothing escaping attention.
I loved your choice of word with the use of “fortissimo”, my first encounter I believe with this jewel. It made your word tapestry brilliant in color. Its definition is listed below in case another whom might not know its meaning needs this piece of puzzle. A joy to read!
