The Veil Between

The Veil Between

A Poem by Cherrie Palmer
"

Inspired by MJ

"
The day has come,
but not yet the sun.
As the veil of mist rises.
Like a kite it does fly,
dissipating in the sky.
Waiting on moonbeams to find it.

With the velvet of night,
the veil is wove tight,
and the realm of the Faye comprises.
Their curtain of mist,
by man may be missed,
until their song calls us.

Scurrying away,
you can hear them at play.
With lingering smells of lavender and sage.
Their eyes shine bright.
Bringing to some a fright.
As they flee toward the coming day.

The king of the dale sits on his hill,
waiting for the minstrels to sing.
As Fairies of old frolic so bold
wearing the petals of Spring.
With a curtsey and bow
the dance of the owl they'll cling.

They fly through the air,
with moon dust in their hair.
As they spy on children at sleep.
But a warning I give
to those who have hid,
beware the calling of your name.

dear Cherrie.. I can identify with this poem. I do frolic with the Fairies and play in the Sunbeams. Looking forward to Spring Violets with the scent of Lavender and sage.... a Ripe old age that .. like Wine ... may be Vintage. I love your words that sing a Song. tenderly, Pat
