The Matcha Bee

The Matcha Bee

A Poem by Cherrie Palmer
"

The Japanese tea ceremony preformed by nature :)

"
The little bee bowed low his head

wiped his feet on the petals' edge.

He freed said nectar found within;

then, once more bowed his head.

His clapping feet sifted the nectar,

cascading into the tiny cup.

Then, magically, as if on cue,

the summer rain whisked it up.

With his wing, he cleaned the rim;

passed the drink to his tiny friend.

The wee small friend bowing low …

drank the gift, returning the bowl.

Thank you Marvin. I wanted to use enough of the actual ceremony to blend into this animated scene. .. read more
I love matcha...I have a big wooden box with a glass lid full of every sort of tea imaginable, I just finished a cup of raspberry black tea. My latest favorite is a green tea with matcha, acai and wild blueberry. I love how you bring us to the solemn ceremony with bees in attendance to share the ritual. So sweetly elegant and natural. I enjoyed.

The poem kind of dances like a bee. Maybe it's the blank lines between that give it that feel. Fun to read, and I can't help but notice how well it's punctuated. A 'bee bowl' of cool nectar sounds really good right now!

I love the way you take the traditional Japanese tea ceremony and transform it into nature... two little bees,take the bow, the cup magically fills with the rain water, stirs it up and the two friends delight in this event....passing the bowl; very imaginative... like the imagery.

Thank you Ruth 😊 in my mind it played out in an animated fashion.
Such a lovely read, Cherrie. Imagery let me see the bee on the flower. It is almost intimate in feeling. Like we are peeking in on a private ritual. This could be a children’s story. Very nice! Temp
