30 day Notice

30 day Notice

A Poem by Judas Hammer
"

My time on 12th and Centre in San Pedro. They shot the last scene of friday part two at my former home......I know so what!

"
30 Day Notice:

It stinks
the air wreaks of surrender
Large mounds of trash
lay still in the Alley
next to my Small green abode
Gang Graffiti faces my North
hopelessness faces my south
Rough black youths use my alley
as a throughway
and bathroom
strutting through with bad intentions
my neighbors stare at me
with owl like orbitals
staring
glaring
attempting to pierce
my soul
and locate my secret
place
I stay in a one level, two roomed
green shack
owned by a former male figure skater
from Palos Verdes
he collects the rent, always during the day
My small home sits on the corner of 12th and Centre
police sirens mix with Mariachi Music
the two create a disco of the damned
This is my reality
but it suddenly becomes clear
my thirty day notice
will start
tomorrow

Truly a work of art. I like the gritty feel. Very cool.

thoroughly enjoyed this piece. your imagery and depth really nailed the climate and set the scene for us to feel what you feel, in a way. the structure builds anxiety, the ending seals the sympathy. nicely done.

I don't really understand this one, I guess it is because I grew up middle class. But it is still a touching poem. Good job!

You've come to terms with a bleak and scary fate.
police sirens mix with Mariachi Music
the two create a disco of the damned
This is my reality
It doesn't sound pleasant..........
