Missing Her Muse

Missing Her Muse

A Poem by Debbie_Philly
"

This was a picture challenge ... its what I saw when I looked at the pic... just a small little rhyme :)

"
MISSING HER MUSE
Rejection in scarlet tones.... her dance partner has flown
her lover.. her friend.. her saving grace there's no room for air in this place
at the dance bar she now sobs as her muse has left her without a song
no rhythm no rhyme.. steps out of time.... she is left to face her own demise
as she wipes her tears through sadness and woe the dancer must always
go on with the show.

The poem and the painting fit perfectly, you managed to expand the emotions the artist painted and translate it into the rhythms of poetry. Great job... have you considered recording this as a spoken word and posting it on your profile? I think it would be the next layer to this "picture challenge"...it's one of those poems that fits the tongue and the mouth perfectly...as if written to be read aloud.

a muse... they can be so fickle! Enjoyed reading this, have felt similar things when I sit to write and nothing but garbage comes out. It's like I have no control over it, and that can be scary.

Very True Mark... thank you for the read :)
Love the way you've used the red of the painting to write about your frustration at losing the muse! Such a cleverness of thought. Whereas the woman leans, your words stand firm but flowing.. so enjoyed this.

Thank you so much Emma... means allot :)
Such an amazing little poem... without inspiration in life the world might as well be black and white.
