The Saint of San Alejandro / Skull pt 1

The Chupacabra, a mysterious protector of a village, a gang war. The first act begins.

TITLE CARD 

The Saint of San Alejandro 

The picture then flashes a brief change, and then says... 

SKULL 

With a picture of The Duelist Predator, sitting on a pile of skeletons. Almost horrific. 

NOTE: In this act, the people will be speaking Spanish with English subtitles. Except for the Narrator who will speak English. 

A BABY IN THE WOMB 

We are doing a close up on the baby’s head as its developing.  

Flash forward to. 

INT. HOSPITAL - DAWN 

A woman is giving birth. The head of said baby comes out.  

She is nursing it and it is bueautifully wrapped up. 

Pull out.  

EXT. SAN ALEJANDRO - DAY 

The subtitle of the location. It is a small city in what would look to be of some location of Central America or South America.  

EXT. SAN ALEJANDRO STREETS - NIGHT 

Some time has passed and that same baby is now a kid, rough, rowdy. He is being chased by a local gang of kids, slightly older than him. 

KID 1 

Cesar! Get your a*s back over here. You can’t escape! 

Young CESAR (the kid) turns to the main street and decides to stand his ground.  

YOUNG CESAR 

Come and take your piece! 

They fight, and Cesar starts winning. 

We are transitioning through time, as Cesar is fighting to the age of a teenager and a brawler. 

INT. BAR 

Cesar takes a knife to the eye and pulls it out. He pushes the guy onto a pool table and ends the fight by slamming his victim face into the bar thus winning.  

INT. LORENZO’S MANSION 

Teen Cesar is thrown to the floor. Time has passed as he now has a scar over his left eye. He gets up. 

LORENZO 

So, you are the famous Cesar of San Alejandro.  

TEEN CESAR 

You brought me here? You going to kill me? 

LORENZO 

You beat up three of my guys. 

TEEN CESAR

Kill me. 

LORENZO 

I want to offer you a job. As you know, San Alejandro is under my protection from the Sanchez Syndicate, they pay me, and I leave them alone. I made a promise to the priest, Father Alonzo, no drugs. 

TEEN CESAR 

You want me to work for you? Why? 

LORENZO 

Sanchez Sr. is on death’s door, and his son, has made no hidden agenda that he wishes to see me and my family dead. 

TEEN CESAR 

You want me to kill him? 

A group of thugs, each almost a cut out of the bad a*s variety, walk in. 

LORENZO 

The town of San Roberto needs to be stockaded. We need our presence felt in the other towns as well.  

TEEN CESAR

And San Alejandro? 

LORENZO 

The priest baptized my son. We can come and go, but I do not wish to make it a battle field. I think you would do nicely with my friends here. 

Teen Cesar looks to them, they inspect him over. 

GOMEZ 

He would do nicely. 

LORENZO 

Your family will be provided for and you can live in this mansion as long as you like. 

TEEN CESAR

Then I say yes. 

EXT. DESERT TOWN - AFTERNOON 

People are running in fear. 

INT. TOWN TOWER 

Bandits are running around with weapons. 

They are preparing to be seiged. 

EXT. HELICOPTER 

Gomez’s group, years later are in battle gear. 

PILOT 

We are approaching the tower.  

GOMEZ 

These b******s have been harassing the area for long enough. 

PILOT 

One of them is a former General of the Army? Right? 

CHU 

They should be thanking us for this one. F*****g deserters. 

Another member of Gomez’s group, Han, is a Chinese Mercenary who had been picked up to be an enforcer for the Gomez Crew. 

HAN 

The military is too coward to chase them here. 

GOMEZ 

How is our ground team? 

EXT. DESERT TOWN 

A lone car is coming to the border, Juan is driving. In the backseat, like a person who is untouchable is a lone figure, we cannot see his face. 

They get out of the car. 

We pan the back of the unknown man’s head to see that it is  

CESAR, now an adult, a scary hulk of a man. His scar has become his indicator and his scowl tells us he has never shown fear in his life. 

JUAN 

This is Juan. We can see them.  

Juan takes binoculars out and starts scoping the tower. 

JUAN (CONT’D)

You sure we are okay? 

CESAR 

The shipment of weapons they stole cant fire with any level of accuracy at our distance.  

INT. HELICOPTER 

GOMEZ 

That’s great. Stay out of their range. But keep their attention drawn. Move in when best available. 

EXT. DESERT TOWN 

CESAR

Tequila. 

JUAN 

What? 

CESAR 

Tonight feels like a tequila night. 

INT. HELICOPTER 

HAN 

Every night is a tequila night. 

EXT. DESERT TOWN 

Hearing the head set... 

CESAR 

When you stop being such a p***y, you will embrace the beautiful mistress. 

HAN 

(on headset) 

Speaking of beauty, have you seen the chupacabra? 

JUAN

Beauty eh? 

HAN 

(headset) 

Me and Gomez had a run in last night. 

INT. UNKNOWN HOUSE, MAIN ROOM - NIGHT 

A body is hung up and stripped of it’s head. Blood everywhere. 

Han and Gomez, with guns, walk in the room confused. 

Back to. 

INT. HELICOPTER 

HAN 

Do you believe in fairy tales? 

GOMEZ

We aren’t dealing with the chupacabra today? 

EXT. DESERT TOWN 

CESAR 

Does sound pretty. Hang on, I think I can hear your approach. 

JUAN

Let’s make our move. 

EXT. TOWN TOWER 

Cesar and Juan drive up with a banner. 

INT. TOWN TOWER 

A soldier comes up to the general. 

SOLDIER

General? 

GENERAL

Yes? 

SOLDIER 

They come to negotiate with us? 

GENERAL 

Very well. We shall see what they want. 

SOLDIER 

They cannot attack us. From our location and hope to prevail.

 

General motions for the man to leave.  

EXT. TOWN TOWER 

Juan has a loud speaker. 

JUAN 

We are willing to listen to your terms. 

Cesar in the back, is on the phone. He has no interest. 

CESAR 

So, you’re telling me that the bandit leader is on the top of the tower? 

CHU 

(voice only) 

Yeah, we also got word from an inside source that some of Sanchez’s boys are in town, watching this go down. 

CESAR 

So then let’s put on a show. 

INT. TOWN TOWER 

Soldier is on a speaker. He is looking from a window. 

SOLDIER 

We also want several ton’s of marijuana, cocaine, and a...  

There is the sound of a helicopter. 

SOLDIER (CONT’D) 

What is that? 

JUAN 

That is your ride? 

SOLDIER

Already? 

JUAN 

(unsure, not able to keep the ruse going) 

Um yes. We have your supplies as well. 

EXT. TOWN TOWER 

Cesar puts the phone down and begins to walk casually towards the front of the tower. 

A standing guard out of the window looks on curiously as the helicopter approaches only to see, as it passes, there is an open window of the helicopter, and Chu has a rocket launcher pointed right at them. There is an explosion.

 

Instantly, the team of Enforcers repels and starts shooting. 

INT. TOWN TOWER 

The team is going through the floor, highly coordinated, as they clear one room of two bandits. And then walk forward and Gomez, leading the charge, kills another.  

He stops, and motions for the team to split up.  

Him and Han go up the stairs while Chu goes down. 

Chu is heading down the stairs when he sees flashes of gunfire from below in another room. A MAN screams as he runs backwards, and falls down, dies, with a knife in his neck. 

Cesar appears. 

CHU 

How many you kill so far? 

CESAR

Three. 

CHU 

F**k, already going for the high score? 

CESAR

Always. 

CHU

Where’s Juan? 

CESAR 

Relax Chu, he is getting some weapons in case we needed them. 

CHU 

We should be done soon. 

Sounds of gunfire above, they just look and walk up. 

INT. TOP OF TOWER 

General is looking on below the deck as there are flashes and the sounds of men dying. A grenade has exploded below. 

He mourns the deaths of his comrades who were in that room. 

He grabs a gun. Behind him, is a figure cloaked in a blur. 

INT. TOWN TOWER 

Cesar manages to catch up with his team. 

The room where the last of the bandits stood is sprayed with ash and blood. Their enemies are now dead. 

GOMEZ 

I see you arrived just in time Cesar. 

CESAR

Gomez. 

GOMEZ 

Chu, is the bottom cleared? 

CHU

Yes. 

GOMEZ

Han. 

HAN

Yes? 

GOMEZ 

Call in the pilot and ask him if he can see the General on the top? 

HAN

Will do. 

CESAR 

(looking out the window) Nice view of the town.

 

A loud scream is heard. They all instantly put their weapons up to battle stance.

 

A decapitated and mutilated body is thrown over the window without a head.  

GOMEZ

Oh my God. 

CESAR

Can’t be. 

The uniform, or what is left of it, has the General’s tags.  

HAN 

The Chupacabra strikes again. 

EXT. TOP OF TOWER 

Cesar bursts through the top plank. He looks where the General stood, it is covered with blood. 

Standing, there is the cloaked blur of THE DUELIST.  

The rest of the crew shows up and the Blur is gone. They are now alone on the roof. 

Author's Note

An introduction to Act 1's hero Cesar. I picture him to be portrayed like a young Danny Trejo or something of that nature. The plot will pick up more so in the next segment. Any criticisms are welcome.
