A Poem by 外人 (Gaijin)
"

A poem about my favourite sport, written it after playing it with my cousin after years

"

so entro eu e quem me encara.

O voltear da bola carrega meu humor por uma hora,
um ponto ganhado, exulto sem para',
um ponto perdido, de raiva grito.

... Esse è o tennis que nunca largarei !

Title: Tennis

A racket in my hand,
a net in the horizon,
don't need to look further,
that's my heaven, bro' !

Taste of thunder,
noise of lightning, a shock,
whenever the ball touches my racket,
and there my little sun goes looking for its beloved moon.

When I step in the tennis court time stops,
troubles, worries and problems stay outside,
only me and my challenger gets in.

The spinning of the ball carries my mood for an hour,
A winned point, I cheer without stopping,
a lost point, of anger I shout.

... That's the tennis I'll never leave !

To answer your question in the Author's Note, I enjoy Basketball. Though I like tennis never was too good at it lol. It's fun though. I like the passion in this poem, it shows your love for tennis. I like this part:
"Taste of thunder,
noise of lightning, a shock,
whenever the ball touches my racket,
and there my little sun goes looking for its beloved moon."

too old to play sports now my friend, but football was always my game, English football, that is...I used to live and breathe the game and even now I cannot pass any group of kids playing it without stopping for a while to enjoy their enjoyment. This was a truly honest poem which depicted your love of Tennis perfectly

I like this a lot. The imagery is beautiful, and I admire your honesty. I think the main thing that caught my attention to this piece is that it is original. Great job :)

Tennis is a great sport of the spectators who wan`t to excercise their neck muscles,it is a bit upper class and ideal for people who like paying obscene prices for strawberries at Wimbledon. I come from a working class family in London, for us there is only football ( for our American friends soccer), football and football.... and I like the poem.

This is great and interesting since us readers now know your favorite sport! Which I haven't played tennis in real life yet. What I mean by that is, I play tennis on the Wii ;) Haha! It's actually a lot of fun. Sounds like from your poem that you really do enjoy tennis. I'd definitely have to say my favorite sport is basketball. I could play for hours. I'm going to try out for High School's basketball team this year XD Again, good job this is outstanding. :D

Minor mistake:
(noise of lightining, a shock,) It should be *noise of lightning, a shock*
